Just kidding Bernsie biggrin.gif

Aw....But I'm only just finding my fondness for the 9" figures! I'd love to see them return to clothes someday.

What happened to the Sideshow line? or was it more just Kirk & Spock rather than going for a full line like they did with Buffy & X-Files?

The Playmates 9" line is a favorite of mine, but i will admit they look like they were fashioned after the Animated series more than the live action series. If the body sculpt was more realistic they would be much better, but regardless i still like them a great deal.

rolleyes.gif LOL!! Have you noticed how everyone who wants DS9 first is backing up their argument with "I think DS9 would sell better than..." and everyone that wants the TOS movie figures is saying "I think the TOS Movies would sell better than..." and same for VOY too. The argument is just gonna keep going around and around and around and around and around and around until we actually have official word from DST as to what they're gonna do next. It was the same at the AA boards of old and it's the same here.

The difference is in the over all style of the figures. The TNG figures are more solid and the scale is just slightly bigger. If you put Kirk next to Picard Kirk looks like a mid teens child. I will try and get some pics up later.

What if you put a Nemesis Picard next to a TNG Picard? Did they do a new sculpt for pickie's face too?

Yes, totally new sculpt...no I don't have pics I'm sorry. Someone here does because we spoke about this when the Picard figures were first released. Data is the same: totally new head sculpt.

Chapel was not in the first season at all, right?

Yes she was. "What are Little Girls Made Of" was characterwise the most important episode for Chapel. And it was a season 1 episode. They even had the suede belts and the B&W Phasers in that episode. (10th episode to be produced, 7th episode to be aired.)

Cheers Bernsie

I don't know where I would have heard she was not in S1!

Can the movie Uhura body be used for Chapel & Rand movie figures?
I guess there may be the problem of skirts Vs pants...
I don't mind which way they go but I don't know if Chapel wore the skirt.

It is my belief that any Trek figures they release should sell alright. From a movie era Kirk to Neelix.

I want Chapel first because I consider her part of the core crew and the TOS core crew is not complete w/o her for me. AA started the TOS before DS9, so they should finish it first. That's my argument. I don't care which one sells better.

Oh and I want the Enterprise Crew Completed.

We Need a Hoshi and a Phlox Bridge Crew.

Complete the Enterprise, TOS, TNG crews and then more on to DS9 and Voyagur!

I very much agree with your Gothneo...

Finish what was started...then move on.

Regardless of AA/DST or any fans opinions, Chapel is a core member of the cast.
I can't imagine any TOS fanatics saying otherwise!

I gather it is mainly the people who never really watched the series & want DST to move onto DS9 or whatever. Making one more TOS character is hardly going to delay anything else.

^ Gee, where'd ya get that pic? wink.gif Surely it wouldn't be too hard to bring out Chapel. She doesn't wear exactly the same uniform as Uhura (slightly different neckline) but it's similar and wouldn't take too much to change it surely.

Yes, thanks again for that biggrin.gif

I was saying to Mason I do not understand why that pic was not used in many cases.
Instead they used the shot from a different angle where Uhura is half hidden!

Well I consider myself a fan of TOS more than any of the other Star Trek series and I don't consider her a core member of the crew but if other people do then that's fine.

Out of curiosity though isn't that picutre above the one where she was added after the fact or was that another character in that picture?

Here's the same picture taken from another angle. I think this makes it 99% safe to say no characters were digitally added to the pic. However, when Playmates made the set of the Bridge Crew figures, Chapel was not part of the set. Playmates did use this picture on the back of the box. But Chapel was not on it and checkov was standing somewhere else on the shot. Again, I think it's 99% safe to say Playmates PhotoShopped the picture. Can anyone post that picture?

Right or wrong, I look to startrek.com for who is considered part of the core cast.

If you look at

http://www.startrek....asts/index.html

It lists Chapel as cast. and I consider every one listed on teh main cast page to be core cast.

I use the same reasoning why I need a Pulaski and Yar in TNG

and I'm sure there be some of the same controversy over Kess and Ezri Dax.

But if they get billing as Cast on the main page, then I cosider them core!

Maybe that was it. I just remember something about photoshoping with that picture and I knew it had something to do with chapel. Guess she was taken out.

I have always seen Chapel as a supporting cast member but not part of the main crew. To me she has never been that important of a character.

I actually kind of agree. But I have to have some illogical rational for my collecting habits, so wanting one of every cast member listed on the main page of startrek.com for each series is currently it for me tongue.gif

I guese if you went by the 1st season TOS credits. Only Shanter (Kirk) and Nimoy (Spock) are the main cast. Everyone else is credit as supporting.

Lol....yes, everyone is pretty sure their favourite Trek will outsell the others!

Uhura wore both a skirt and pants, I think she started out with a skirt (not sure of the order) so a head swap would be fine, I used Ilia's legs for a custom, adding a skirt and boots with Sculpty, I wonder if a TOS Uhura would have worked better, except the skirt is too short. I think I also added Scupty to her waist, as she was just too skinny for a movie Uhura.
Chapel as far as I remember, wore pants, but I could be wrong

In regards to Chapel, I think more than anything it would simply be nice for DST to recognise Majels work in Trek.

Is there anyone who has been in as much Trek as Majel Barrett?

Plus, TOS wise, did we know any more about Checov, Uhura, Sulu or Scotty?
