When Playmates had the license in the 90's we got a load of awesome ships but are there any you would have loved seen done by Playmates??

My top 5 "ships that were never done by Playmates but really should have been done" are:

At 5... The Cardassian Galor Warship. This was shown at some toy fair...

at 4...  The Narada. A 20 inch Narada was planned but never built and this is a shame because I think A Narada would have been awesome

at 3... The Kelvin. The Kelvin would have been just as awesome and totally needed to be done but PM settled for several scales of figures instead... yawn!

at 2... Classic D7 Klingon Battleship

at 1... The USS Enterprise NCC 1701 (refit). This was a ship I so badly wanted Playmates to do. There are other ships I'd have loved to have seen (a proper Excelsior, Reliant) but this one just screamed for a toy and I'm stunned it took so long for a company to do one. If there was one Star Trek ship that is as iconic as the classic and the D, it's this one.

An electronic Galor-class? Insane. Doubt you'd ever see that made again (would love to be proved wrong in future).

I wonder why it wasn't released since both DS9 and the Runabout came to be? Seems like that's a working model too.

Unfortunately the same thing happened with a Kazon ship. One was planned that would have come with an exclusive figure but that never saw the light of day.....

Take care,

Funnily enough - the Kazon ship was definitely my most wanted.

And agreed - that Cardassian ship looked amazing!  I've been drooling over those photos for years!

I limit my favourites down to as few as possible, but...

Jem'Hadar Ships - I would of loved any Jem'Hadar ship, fighter, battle cruiser, anything for the Defiant to fight

Galor Class - Mentioned already but thought I'd add it

Kazon Mothership - I hated the Kazon, but it seems only fair to include it

Klingon D7 - Nuff Said

Neg'var - Loved the design, and would love if DST would give it a go

Saucer Separating D - For an epic crash landing on the carpet

Refit 1701 - Fantastic, beautiful  ship, and to fight it...

The Reliant

Martog's BOP - With authentic Martog Quotes!

The Queen's Diamond Borg Ship - To accompany the Sphere and Cube

Others that would've be good:

Breen Ship

Hirogen Ship

Delta Flyer

Ferengi Maruder

Ferengi shuttle (For Quark, of Course)

Admiral Jarok's Scout Ship

Keldon Class

Equinox

I'll seen if I can come up with more...

Wow! Great find, 1701!

My, how Toy Fair representatives have changed! They all seem to think they're in a commercial... comes off a little silly these days.

But damn, yeah, that Galor prototype looks sweet! Did I see red lights in the Runabout prototype's engines?! I know that didn't make it to production, but between that and the cockpit cock-up... the thing got mangled in design!

I still want to find a PM DS9 for a reasonable price + shipping... so very rare.

So... what ship would I have loved from PM? Well, nowadays I think DST do a much better job with the sculpt details, so I'm happy with all the ships they've released.

However, I too wish they had gone ahead with the Kelvin toy in '09. I can't see the Narada having come off well, what with the trade-offs between the design, health & safety, and the limits of the manufacturing techniques.

And a Dominion attack ship was very high on my list of wants. Seeing one in the background of the box art for the Defiant was such a tease!

Had Playmates kept the licence a little longer, we might have seen some ships from Enterprise. I'd have bought the NX-01 and the Kumari. God, I'd have loved to have those made by Playmates...

Great video find. Yeah, I've always wondered what the Galor model actually looked like. An odd choice, but I would've liked one. And am I the only one who wishes they had created that mock-up of Quark's Bar for sale? It's simple but looked sweet with Quark behind it!!

Keep watching the video: you can see some of the toys for SeaQuest DSV that were planned but never saw the light of day. I'm shocked by some of them! The EVA and Stinger would've been awesome.

Ok...back to topic:

I would have liked to have seen Playmates tackle the Delta Flyer. I imagine it would've been something like the Runabout and Galileo shuttles, but still...it would've been nice to add to the Voyager line.

I'm with you Daysleeper. I would've liked to have seen ENT figures, ships, and a shuttlepod made in the style of the 14-point figure style.

Oh yes, a shuttlepod to go with 4.5" figures... *drool*

Agreed, the Delta Flyer could've been nice.

As long as the figures were in the 14-point articulation of the Target exclusive 4.5 FC figures and not the horrible later Warp Factor fixed posed figures.

And yes, I would've gone gaga for bridge sets from The Defiant, Voyager, and the NX-01. And I'm sure I'm the only one, but I would've LOVED an OPS from DS9 playset. And maybe even a stand alone Runabout set (not one inside the actual runabout, but more detailed and screen accurate).

And it goes without saying I would've drooled over an Andorian cruiser!!

No you're not the only one. I built an OPS with cardboard and stuff, including Sisko's office, when I was younger. It was huge! But I would've loved an OPS playset!

The acting of the reps is just hilarious. "The most feared ship in the universe" for the Galor made me laugh.

I would have loved to see the Galor be released, same with a bigger playmates Kelvin. Im not sure how good of a Narada playmates could have made and kept it kid friendly, not sure how they would have handled the points.

My top ship would have been the Enterprise C… poor ship never gets any love.

After that Reliant/Refit Enterprise

Then Prometheus from Voyager.

Also would love to have seen the Delta Flyer.

Any pictures???

I've always dreamed of commissioning one of my architecture friends to build me one to scale with the PM figures. I've been saving screen caps, blue prints, renderings, etc. for years so that we can see every angle.

I think I remember someone on one of the Trek boards doing an OPS set to scale. I would've loved to have one of those myself as well.
