24 and DS9 is my fav. Then VOY, TNG, TOS and ENT. I grew up with 24th century Trek and as much as I love TOS and ENT, thats my order. And I would by absoloutely anything that was 24th century, figures, ships, role-play. Too bad it will never be made!

Hey all,

I'm 30 (still ntot used to saying that and it's been 6 months biggrin.gif ) and my favourite is TNG. I grew up watching it on tv and have followed every series since then as soon as they were shown. My order is:-

1) TNG
2) DS9
3) ENT
4) VOY
5) TAS
6) TOS

Now I don't know if it's just the kid in me or what, but for some reason I prefer TAS to TOS. Of course, I'm not saying I don't like TOS, but I prefer the other series. And being a completist, I have to have everything produced, including packaging variations.

Take care,
Matty-lad

32 here and I voted TNG ( I grew up with it ) I voted DS9 as my second favorite. TOS is the "original" Trek of course and deserves it's rightful place on top .... but TNG was an amazing phenomena in its own right... It started the whole syndicated sci-fi television era and produced 7 great seasons.

An interesting trend is emerging. TOS and TNG are clearly the main favorites of many; but look at the second choices, DS9 and Enterprise. The suits at Paramount should have at least let ENT run one more season; to see if it had life still. As stated by many, the 4th season was the best and finest of the series. The show also wasn't helped at all by being shown on the UPN network. The UPN network was a joke of a network, and WB was only slightly better, but not by very much. Honestly, Enterprise was just doomed to fail just because of the network it was on, and the nitwits running Paramount. smile.gif

26 and I began my obession with TNG . As soon as I started watching it , back in about the 5th season or so , I was a rabid fan from that time forward .

I watched DS9 from day one , but for the life of me can't recall any of the shows from the first two seasons only because they for the most part seemed a bit gull to me , there series seemed to pick up around Season 3 and the Dominon War arc really was gripping for me each week as it progressed .

I also watched Voyager from day one and in the begining it felt like a fun show , with all these new and different alien allies and enimies , then it seemed to go heavy into Borg and and bunch of races we had seen before , Klingons , Q , Romulans , Ferengi etc . It almost makes one think the wirters threw the names of alien races into hats andworte astory based on which race they pulled out LOL . Don't get me wrong i enjoyed Voyager , I just wished they hadn't relied so heavily on the Borg . Also it seemed to me a bit hard to swallow that a small Intrepid class ship like Voyager could face down the borg week in and week out , and survive when not one but two Earth fleets were detroyed by Borg cubes .

I watched Enterprise from day one as well and I enjoyed it even with it's flaws , it facinated me to see what the first warp 5 ship to explore was doing , and $ was the best season , but I did enjoy the Xindi story arc . It was interesting to see the ship get so badly damaged and the damage getting porgressivley worse from week to week , and how that affacted the crew and their morale .

I cme in late in the game seeing TOS , I had caught a rare episode on brocast TV a time or two , and I had a couple of episodes on video . I later seen more of TOS on the DVD fan collectives . Then when TOS Remastered began I finally was able to watch every episode .

And I found I loved TOS as well , each show had it's own something that made it unique , and with TOS it had excellent writing and the characters felt pretty well defined .

So as a fovrite I choose TNG but as a Star Trek fan who enjoyed all the seris I'll say don't make me choose , I love them all LOL!

As someone who is a collector , I enjoy the figures but the prices are rather high as comapred to what playmates produced back in the 90s , so i pick and choose a few chioce characers, but the ships are awesome so i generally save my cash for those as they give the most bang for the buck.

Wow! Long post is long! lol

Seems like i am the old codger here at 45, although i think there are 1 or 2 older on the forum but we havent heard from them yet. TOS followed by the TOS movies, especially TWOK are my favorites. I watched TNG from the first broadcast of the first showing of the series and enjoyed it very much, so it comes in at number two. I gave DS9 and VGR a good shot when they were originally broadcast, but lost interest in them after a season or two. I have since gained a new respect for them after rewatching the entire series back to back in the last few years. UPN ruined Enterprise for me because the broadcast schedule was so erratic i couldnt get in a groove to get into it. I have since purchased the series on DVD and plan to watch the whole series and hopefully like it this time. Honorable mention goes out to TAS, which i watched during its original broadcast in the early 70's, and i liked it too.

Favorite Series: All of them. My "favorite" changes depending on the day. Lately, it's either TOS or ENT, since those are what my DVR is filled with.

What I collect: All the Trek Tek. Most of the ships. A smattering of figures. I was a completist back in the Playmates and AA days, but DST's missteps have killed that.

Matty-Lad, in all my years of surfing Trekkie sites, you have to be the first person I've seen list TAS above TOS. smile.gif

Well what can I say. It must be the fact that it's a cartoon and the new alien characters. I like characters that are not at the forefront of the series such as Arex and M'Ress, Ogawa and Ro etc.

Take care,

Age: 22
Love: TNG
Second Best: DS9 & TOS (hard to choose)

Having grown up not only with the primary Trek emphasis being on TNG, but also I got quite a few of the Playmates toys and pretty much from there I've always had the most prominent connection to TNG; sentimentality is fun that way. Despite that, I do love all Trek - well, except for Enterprise, Final Frontier and Nemesis. I still find things to enjoy in those, though, and even have or want figures from ENT and FF. Man what'd I give for a MACO figure... but anyways, what really got me into collecting AA/DST's stuff was TNG.

When AA announced the Enterprise and TOS figures, I wanted them, but I wasn't all that said when I wasn't able to find them, or when they were too expensive. I could simply pass on them, but when they started showing off the Worf and Riker, then Picard and Troi, and Geordi and Data... I was quite enamored; I had to have them all. Which is really why all of the 24th century-related cancellations have hurt so much. While I look forward to all of the TOS stuff, I really, really want more TNG/DS9 stuff, and find it disheartening that despite supporting them the best I can, these things still won't get made.

Still, I'll continue to get their TOS stuff, not in blind hope that eventually it'll help more 24th century stuff get made, but rather because I enjoy these items too.

As for pre-ordering, I would absolutely love to pre-order everything. I can't, though. Having no credit card myself, I was borrowing my sister's card for pre-orders and paid her back over time whenever a pre-order, or several, came in. Due to the poor economy, though, she decided to cancel that card. Ever since then the only pre-order I've been able to do was the NFC Gowrons, since they were inexpensive enough to handle at any time.

Well, since (it seems) we are only getting TOS AA Reissues, everyone that longs for the return of AA should be happy right?!

It's all been said over and over about why AA no longer exists and why Trek is floundering under DST, so I won't repeat any of it again.

DS9 is my Fav show though, and I really didn't like it for the 1st few seasons, but it quickly became addictive. With TNG or TOS, I could just tune in if I wanted... if I missed a week, no big deal. But not so with DS9, and it took a while it get it is hooks in me, but once it did, I started scheduling around it!

If we only got a Nog, Jake and Bajoran Uniform Kira I would consider the DS9 line a success. (and please... that doesn't mean I would want many many more... because I would!)

But I'm one of those who feel that my TOS collection isn't complete with out Chapel and Rand and now (hopefully!) I'll have them!

1) DS9
2) TNG
3) VOY
4) ENT (although VOY and ENT are tied in my book for various reasons)
5) TAS
6) TOS
7) Ultimate Trek/JJ Trek

I love different aspects of most Star Trek. I buy almost everything, but I don't pre-order because I buy at a slightly slower pace than the current rate of release; and because while I ultimately buy everything there are definitely figures that have a higher place on my priority list.
