My speculation is that hiring the complete cast was deemed too expencive. So I guess they made the compromise of hiring all of them except for Koenig (who was in only 2 of the 3 TOS vseasons) and offered Koenig to write an episode instead. But as I said, this is speculation.

No....no he probably wouldn't have!
I was reading about Shattner being upset by all the focus on Spock during TOS years (by the fans) & thats when the big Kirk/Spock relationship was written in....so when people thought of Spock, they also thought of Kirk. (Star Trek: A History in Pictures)
Someone was writing on Playtrek the other day that Takai had said Shattner was very disrespectful towards fans & in general seemed to love himself (or something along those lines).
Anyway....that beside the point!
Did Grace Lee Whitney ever do anything with TAS?

Q: What is the most used object in the world?
A: Shatner's mirror!
Just like Pandora's Box, Shatner's Mirror should become a catchphrase.
Or maybe we should call it Shatnered Mirror?
All kidding asside, no Whitney didn't do anything on TAS.

That man doesn't have the best reputation.
Though I don't know anything much about it, I know he said "Get a life" to fans...& then wrote a book by the same name (I think).
Could I get a tiny bit of insight on that? as in where he said it & why. (sorry for the OT)
Bernsy...can you come over here for a sec...I would like your thoughts on something:

The good thing about him is that he seems to use his reputation to make people laugh. As if he doesn't mind at all. Just look at the way he plays himself in Showtime. Especially the subtile in-joke having Shatner call DeNiro the worst actor he's ever seen! Man, I almost died seeing that.
I don't think Shatner is all bad. I mean, let's face it. If he was really the jurk his reputation makes him, he would never have accepted that part in Showtime.
