Yelchin, 27, was discovered by his friends on the morning of June 19 at his home, pinned down by his own car. Police do not suspect foul play.

I read this earlier. It's very sad news. I thought he was a very talented actor and have enjoyed everything I've seen him in. So far 2016 has not been a good year for celebrities at all.

Saw the news online this morning and was hoping that it was another fake celebrity death story, along the lines of Vin Diesel.  RIP Anton.

Damn that's depressing. He was a great actor, and seemed like a pretty cool guy.

I'm going to say something blasphemous, but I liked his Chekov better than Koenigs.

I'm deeply saddened by this news. Such an awful tragedy. He was brilliant. A brilliant person, a brilliant actor and a brilliant Checkov.

The world has lost another person, far too soon and far too young.

RIP.

So sad and such a strange accident. Even though only 27 he achieved a lot as an actor. Looking forward to seeing him in Beyond.

Wow. Stunningly bad news. I figured we'd have at least 40 plus years before we we're saying goodbye to any of the JJ-Verse Crew :-(

Circumstances of death are now suspected to be linked to a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee recall for an e-shifter design, one which prompted a recall in April of this year by the NHTSA following months of investigations. 121 crashes and 41 injuries linked to this shifter design so far.

His passing is only now really sinking in. Such a terrible and pointless way to go.

I know I'm late to this, but I was quite shocked to hear about this on Sunday. RIP Anton, you will be missed.

Also, in light of Mr. Yelchin's death, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is urging anyone with a vehicle on the recall list to have it brought in for service immediately if they haven't done so already. While FCA is understandably not saying whether or not Mr. Yelchin's death was caused by an unrepaired (or incorrectly repaired) 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, they are reminding other owners of this vehicle and the others recalled with it to always shut the engine off and engage the parking brake, and to follow the instructions that accompanied the recall notice. Apparently several people who own the recalled vehicles have not had them serviced yet, which could potentially lead to more tragedies like the one that claimed Mr. Yelchin's life.

This is such a shame. Anton Yelchin made Chekov a likeable character to me as Koenig's original was something of a cartoon cutout in a Beatles mop top.

Anton Yelchin died way before his time. RIP.
