Greetings All,

I was hoping someone here on the boards could provide some insight on the most recent re-release of the Enterprise-D.

I actually own 2 Ds, the original release and then what I believe is the second run, though I am not sure of the year. The second of my Ds has the neck window paint apps applied, but overall the ship had a lot of quality control issues. The neck did not seat properly and the saucer needed to be glued together just to name a few of its issues. Both of my ships have other issues that I am curious if they had been addressed and/or corrected with the newest release of the ship. I am referring to the electronics issues that results in the slowed and lowered voices and sounds, and the other is the glowing bridge module. The glowing bridge always bugged me more than the sound problem and it would be nice to know if they have been fixed or not?

The sad thing is that I also have the first release of the All Good Things Enterprise and it is perfect. The bridge only lights in the bridge dome window and properly blocks the light behind the bridge button. And the sound chip works correctly as well.

Recently, Ive been getting the itch to hunt the newest version of the D again as I would like to have one that works right, and has all the proper paint apps. I don't want to drop the money these go for these days if these items are still an issue.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks All!

Can't really give you any info on this,OAD. I only have one D and have no idea which version it is,and there were enough issues with it that I'm not even gonna bother getting another one. I've mentioned numerous times what was wrong with mine, lol,so won't go there again. I MIGHT consider getting a new version if the price is right and I can inspect it BEFORE buying it,so I don't get the same issues again.

It's one of the things that made me not to be in any rush getting ships. Like a lot of things in life, the first batch from the assembly line will very often have issues down the line. I've started to wait to see if the kinks get worked out, lol.

I have the one D too and bought it last year. I can only guess it's a newer release as the box was in the uniformed style of the other ships released that year and it had 2015 printed on the box with the legal details (copyright CBS etc...) also come to think of it the 2015 copyright info on the toy is printed tiny in this almost translucent grey on the underside of the saucer, the bit that connects to the secondary hull. personally the quality is great even if the sculpt is a bit off from being accurate to the ship seen on screen. Sounds are crisp and clear, all the windows are present and correct and it seems to have been cast in a nice blue plastic as close to the Generations version of the ship as possible.

It's not their best attempt, I'd say that as far as sculpt goes it's lacking the detail other ships in the line boast but it's an impressive model nonetheless.

They seemed to have fixed the problems with the saucer section not being glued together (a problem I had) as well as the neck windows (this really makes me wish they had sculpted the windows on).

Greetings All,

Thanks for the replies. This is quite helpful. I had a look at my second "D" last night and it appears to be a 2012 addition according to the copyright verbiage on the bottom of the saucer. Now, does anyone know who might have the 2015 release in stock? Amazon appears to have 2012s from the q&a in the descriptions, but those reviews go back all the way to its original release as well. Is there any way to know which is the current release versus old stock? BBTS says they have it in stock, but does not list a release date or manufacture date from what I can tell.

Also, anyone who has the 2015 version, would you be able to post any pictures of the ship? 'Don't like to see how the bridge dome looks with the lights and electronics going if at all possible.

Thanks again for all the insight guys.

Regards,

OAD

If you're in the US, I can guarantee that the ones in the diamondselecttoys.com shop are all 2015 editions, and if you order one through your local comic shop (comicshoplocator.com), it will be the newest edition, as well.

Thanks for the update Zach! That's really helpful. I went ahead and ordered one through Entertainment Earth as I am pretty certain that their stock is also the most recent release. Looking forward to its arrival.

As far as the E goes... Tamiya Insignia White is a very close match to the main hull color.
