Yeah, I've thought about getting one for my collection. Not a bad idea.

Hey all. I was trying t decide if it is worthwhile to get the Captain Calhoun figure? Is it any good? Can someone post some pics so I can look before buying? Cheers. biggrin.gif

I think you can find a pretty good picture of him on ebay. Just look up Captain Calhoun.

He is the only figure ever made from Trek book and was never seen on screen. I do not have an open one but if you look at this you can see one at

I think he wants a closer picture.

Still pretty good for a once off exclusive though.

Yeah, I'd get one.

I remember getting this guy many years ago. I have never actually read the New Frontier books, but the action figure was unique, to say the least.

The books aren't very good.

After I got the Target FC figures, I picked up Calhoun for the navigation console. There were very few FC uniforms in the 4.5 line.

Aren't the Warp Factor series console figures 7 inches tall?

The DS9 ones that came with consoles are 7" tall -- same as the original First Contact figures -- but the Target-release TNG Movie figures that were pretty much the last to be produced by Playmates were 4.5" tall.

That's what I thought too... I bought a Sisko with his chair from playmates, to use for... well Sisko. The figure is only 6" add a few centemetres for the fact that he has his legs spread like a cheap hooker...
I was going to give you Imperial Measure people a slap for not knowing your lengths (used to look for 12" PM figs, and the listings were the 9"ers (oh, plus the box I guess)), but Gordo, you are metric too... blink.gif tongue.gif

Sorry, yes -- the DS9 console figures and original First Contact figures are 6" tall, not 7". I believe the only 7" figures by Playmates were the "Space Talk" ones. (And, sure, I'll take metric conversion as an excuse for my mistake!)

And I agree: The seated pose of 6" Sisko is just awful!

Well not as bad as everyone else's seating... he has the "benefit" of not standing either (and they reengineered him to be able to sit!). I think the chair is passable for the larger figures, especially as Sisko uses the shorter Data's body.
The First contact figures are also 7", although someone can correct me as I only own a Beverly (do you want it Artistix... free! +shipping, I will even colour her hair, and change the style if you like...)
The Calhoun figure is nice, but would have been better, had they waited for the padded grey shoulders to come out. I always thought he would make a good Weyhoun custom as he has purple eyes and his chin looks pretty close.

Intersting.
