Picked up this up from a member over at the Prop Forum.
This is what he sent me.
With some work and some paint, Sorry for no "on the way" photos.
Of course it got dropped right after it was done and it removed the most tiny little piece of black off the nozzle. If you look hard, you can find it. If it was a show piece I would touch it up but as this is a show and go piece, I doubt that' the last ding it's going to get.

Not bad. I want some of the functional replicas, though. But, when it comes time for conventions and I need my trusty side arm, I will probably get some of the resin props. That way all I have to do is repaint them if they get banged up and they would be easily replaced if stolen.
I really do want some of those MR phasers, though. That new assault phaser looks positively bad @$$!

Oh Cool, I picked up one of those a couple of years ago. It was my first prop and turned out OK. I use it as a costume prop and it works pretty good for that. Yours turned out a little better than mine though. Whats funny is I dropped mine and it is missing a tiny little piece of the black area around the emitter nozzle too.

Very nice boomerang. What color green did you use for the power meter? It looks kind of like a metallic green. Very nice touch.

Man I'd really like this piece if it weren't for that little chip in the nozzle.
Looks really good man. I am gonna have to develop some painting skills here soon when I do my Nemesis Troi's hair.

Trying to decide to give away my little trick there or not. Do you really want to know? Ok then, I painted it by brush with luminescent white paint. Then I used an emerald green on top of that and I smeared it thin in places. Put it under strong light for a second and the meter will take on an almost glowing green quality.

Wow, that's really cool! Neat trick. I'm going to have to try that on my next build.
For the boomerang I'm currently working on, I was planning on using plain white paint, transparent red for the bottom bar, transparent green for one half of the top bar, and glow-in-the-dark green for the other half.

Now that sounds like it would have an interesting effect...It would be neat to see how that comes out.

I just hope I don't mess it up. Technically, this will be my first build other than a few experiments I tried recently before finally taking the plunge.
