Same here...except mine was one of the generic ones with the AA bomb on it. I never did a membership kit or anything. *sigh* Anyway, back to topic: VF, what's new with you?

In an attempt to keep this thread close to the topic at hand- Im doing well, thanks for asking Wildcard, glad your back from your long hiatus as well, started worrying about you too. Hey i got a generic minimate long ago too, still have it in the plastic and stored somewhere in my many containers of Star Trek goodies. I did get the membership kit from that club you all are talking about and the stress involved in trying to get it far outweighed the enjoyment of getting it. I noticed a while back that the same guy who was supposed to send out those kits was trying to sell a large hoard of stuff he had from AA to fill orders with. Wonder if everyone who ordered ever got their stuff. I like to think that the guy we are talking about had every intention to be above board and conduct business honestly, but the things i have heard and read and experienced make me suspect he was a scam artist.
Now back to the show.................. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome back.

And I have noticed that since my return I have not been the recipient of such adulation... but I profess, I am not as eminent as VulcanFanatic.

Quite apart from my university work commitments having increased exponentially (I'm on a break now), in the words of Her Majesty, we've been having a real "Annis Horribilus". My husband had a prolapsed disk and ended up having emergency surgery for spinal decompression. He spent four weeks in hospital and now has some difficulty walking because of nerve damage. We are hoping that the nerve damage isn't permanent, but we'll have to wait and see. He has been making some improvements in the past two weeks so we're keeping our fingers crossed for a full recovery. So that's where I've been ~ backwards and forwards to hospital while trying to complete four university assignments. The hobby has had to take a back seat and I've still to amend my credit card details to the renewed card at FP so that I can receive all my preordered goodies!

Good idea. Does that mean we can expect a new icon in the future? Seems your boy has been in the same position for quite a while now. Ever read the Kama Sutra?
