Nothing official yet, but this is from Cult TV Man, so the source is solid:

If they use the same model as their 1:2500 version, then delighted doesn't even begin to describe it. 1:1000 would put it just a shade under 7 inches.

Is it going to be like the Enterprise and D7 that was fully detailed and didn't require paint?

If so, that'd be pretty awesome.

If I had to guess, I'd say no, as those two were labelled under the Polar Lights brand. That'd be incredible if it was (I'd buy at least two), but I think this is just a snap-kit (requires painting and decals). That's cool for me as my brother is putting together a modelling table/area in his house. We've both bought each other a Spartan Games Halo Pelican to start off (such a lovely thing, wings can be attached with magnets for full articulation, really big as well), so I'd assume with the Defiant, it'd just require the main undercoat (and a few details - bussard grills etc) and the decals will take care of the rest.

Right, Polar Lights. That's disappointing.

I want to get into model building, but don't have a space for it. I would have bought a "finished" Defiant in a heart beat.

This look amazing even if it's slightly under 7". To me, it looks like they nailed the deflector!!

Welcome back!

That kit looks real good, and I like the smaller size for the Defiant. May consider picking that kit up when it comes out.

Great to see you back dude. :D

As for the kit...

Spoiler

I could go on, and on, and on, but I'll simply say that to my eye (and I really know the Defiant), that's pretty much spot-on. The deflector is perfect, the bump is gone from the nose (which was on the 1/2500 version), yeah. I'm in for at least three, and if the glowy parts are cast so as to allow lighting, then wow! :D
