Looks absolutly great!!!
Love it!
Wish I was as creative as you!
Maybe you are. Who knows? I'm a newbie myself and I honestly didn't expect this to work at all. That's why I used card. It's easy to handle and very cheap (I think the whole bridge cost me ~ 15 Euros. Thats what - 18 dollars?). If something doesn't work, just scrap it and start anew.
Very impressive, I really liked that version of the bridge in the film.
It's crazy how the much different lighting of the Generation set made it look so much more natural, as opposed to the overfilled "sit-com lighting" that persisted throughout TNG. They talk about that quite a bit on the director's commentary to Generations.
Years ago I wanted to so something similar with the TNG playset: keep all the furniture but make it closer to the scale by creating a new floor and walls. Easy enough to do having a lot of the original playset items.
Oh, yeah, the lighting was great. The whole cinematography of Generations was outstanding. I'm actually a fan of the hotel look, and though I know what Roddenberry and Co were going for with the look of the bridge, I always thought the command centre could have been a biiit busier.
If you scale up the floor you have to scale up pretty much everything - except for the chairs. I really wish I could have used the original chairs (I never owned the playset). What I think everyone with the playset could do is building a roof. It sounds a bit stupid, but I think in pictures, it makes all the difference.
