Oh ok, simple enough, thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW, I really love this ship!! This along with the Refit which also came yesterday are my first AA ships, and they're awesome! I had the 2009 PM Ent already and, tho i still like it, these 2 really put it to shame. I think I'm going to have to get the D and a TOS Ent now too!

Oh, and my fav part about the e...I love the landing strip for Shuttlecraft on the back of the second hull. It's nice little touches like this that make it an outstanding toy.

As far as the mold for the toy itself goes, the AA/DST Ent-E is the most accurate replica of that ship to date; just as Thomas E. Johnson who seems to know whose produced the most accurate versions of each ship. Speaking of Thomas E. Johnson, if he's able too and everybody wants to see them again, I'd like to have him post the pictures of his first customized AA/DST Enterprise-E in this thread--trust me, after seeing them I sent him an Ent-E to be customized. The end result of Tom's work proves just how accurate the AA/DST Ent-E really is, and for a toy, that's definitely in the "most accurate" category. As soon as I get my modified ship back from Tom, I'll take some pictures of it alongside an unmodified ship. The AA/DST toy is more than a toy; it actually has model kit potential.
Regarding the paint apps on the AA/DST Ent-E: I didn't even consider the hull color to be a real problem, what drove me nuts was the missing paint on the top of the warp nacelle pylons--you'll note that the bottom is painted. Overall, the ship looks fine until you realize that there's a whole portion of the ship that AA/DST didn't paint. I wasn't sure about the hull color, but I'm guessing that AA/DST picked the "off white" because that's how it looked on screen and that's how most people remember it. Granted, you can always modify your ship (or if you have money, pay someone to modify your ship) to change the color if it really bothers you. And anti-hero, I too love the detail on the shuttle bay; it's probably one of the most intricate detailing jobs on any toy ship.
What I'd like to see with a DST reissue of the Enterprise-E: Although DST did do a small "second run" when NFCC released their battle damaged variant of the Ent-E, they never really bothered to address some of the issues with the ship the way they did with the second run of the NX-01. Thus, these would be my proposed changes for an updated Enterprise-E reissue, and changes that I'd be willing to pay over $50 dollars for if I had to.
1. The warp engines: I was quite annoyed that the blue portion of the nacelles didn't light up; I'd like to see DST switch from "light-bulbs" to LEDs throughout the ship and throw some blue ones in the warp engines--it really makes a world of difference if you run your ship in the dark.
2. A "play cover" for the battery compartment. Honestly, this is probably my biggest pet peeve with the Ent-E, and something DST later admitted didn't work out. You can probably imagine how disappointed I was when I heard Playmates just made the same boneheaded move. I've gone easier on DST because in their defense they did try to come up with an "all-in-one" play/stand cover design, but it was poorly received. Playmates had no excuse; they should have known that this idea failed and it's why I'm more critical of their use of said design, especially on a toy they're marketing to kids and collectors. In any case, the retooling required to add a second battery cover is minimal, and I'd like to see a true "play cover" on a DST reissue of the Ent-E.
3. As previously mentioned, the top of the nacelle pylons need to be painted, again, I'd be willing to pay more for a decent paint job on the top of the nacelles.
4. If the cost would be feasible, perhaps DST could give the Enterprise-E a "corrected" paint job in the dark gray color that others have mentioned; if not, it's no big deal.
5. Considering that all new Trek toys are in that "unified" packaging that the Enterprise-D is in, I'd like to see a reissued Enterprise-E with the aforementioned modifications in the new packaging to go with the new Enterprise-D.
Again, the updated reissue is just a wish at this point, but it'd be nice to see DST do it, preferably in the near future. In the meantime, the current DST Enterprise-E toy is the best to date. The Playmates First Contact ship was horrendous, and I'd seriously like to see someone customize one into a non-canon class of starship--maybe something created by a temporal anomoly. Because of it's decal-based nature, this is fairly easy to do for model builders and it's about the only thing that the First Contact Enterprise-E is useful for. The Insurrection Enterprise-E should have been a full redesign but Playmates felt the need to insult us with a modified First Contact ship. The Captain's Yacht was a nice touch, but the toy itself was still a pretty poor depiction of the Enterprise-E. Finally we have the AA/DST Enterprise-E. Not only is the shape correct, but the ship looks accurate, at least it looks accurate for a $30 dollar toy, the sound effects sound accurate, and despite the five things I've mentioned above, which could even be reduced to three, the ship is nearly flawless and is the best rendition of the Enterprise-E as a toy to date.
I know it sounds like I have a lot of complaints about the AA/DST Ent-E, but in truth I absolutely love this ship, and it's my favorite AA/DST toy ever made. The reason I have the complaints that I do is because the Enterprise-E is so good that it's set it's own standard and I just want to see it slightly refined to be the "perfect" ship that I know it can be. As of now, the only ship with a truly stable stand is the Ent-E, and I'd take the "flaws" on the Enterprise-E over the "flaws" on the TOS ships any day. (My Ent-E has never fallen off of it's stand, shelf or come apart in my hands.)
My only gripe with the TWOK Refit toy is the "see-through" plastic--I'm pretty sure that the ship wasn't built of transparent aluminum and if DST ever gets to reissue this ship I'd like them to fix the horrendous light-bleed on it. It's not as bad as the new Playmates 1701, but it's pretty close. I also wouldn't mind seeing the Enterprise-A reissued either with similar modifications to the ones I suggested for the Enterprise-E. The refit from TWOK uses the same mold as the Enterprise-A so I really wish DST would update them both at the same time.
Finally, anti-hero, I'd definitely suggest getting the "D" complete with saucer sep (yes, it'll have saucer separation,) when it comes out, and I'd also pre-order the AGT variant as soon as it's available for pre-order. Having seen the pictures of it, I'm admittedly impressed and look forward to its release. If you're going to get the 1701, you have five to pick from, although I recommend pre-ordering if you're considering any of the variations, your five choices are:
1. "Standard" NCC-1701; this is the regular release.
2. "The Cage" variant; engines/bridge/markings are taken from said episode--this is getting very hard to find.
3. "Where No Man Has Gone Before" variant; similar to the above ship with modifications from said episode; also getting hard to find.
4. I.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701: Mirror Universe variant available for pre-order; some non-canon hull markings although most people agree it looks better with them than without them--same mold as the WNMHGB version of the ship.
5. "HD" NCC-1701: Also available for pre-order, this is based off of the TOS-R episodes with enhanced hull detailing; aside from that, it's identical to the standard release.
Whichever TOS ship you pick, I'm sure you'll enjoy it though. In the mean time, have fun with your Enterprise-E, she's one of the best ships AA/DST has ever released.

No, the blue doesn't light up. They didn't bother to add the feature.

Its a simple procedure to take the engines apart and install some LEDs inside to get the whole thing to light up.
