I've been checking out this thread and I have to say that I'm glad they're releasing those repros.

Here's my take on it, and I'll keep it as short and sweet as possible

The Zen-Master Mark was right about rarity, and I have to cast my vote in the 'The Originals Won't Go Down In Value' pot.

I'll be getting the new Romulan. Now, I'd much rather have an original, but they're way way way out of my price range, and I can't see them ever being in my price range.

WARNING: MARK, DON'T READ THE NEXT SENTENCE!

Also, remember way back when when we'd get them new at the store, and no sooner would the car door be closed than the figure'd be ripped out of its packing and played with? What did we care about the future value of the item? The new figs will be a throwback to that too. I mean, who in their right mind would rip an original Romulan out off its card and mess around with it?

New ones will be cool for customization too.

Also, I have my hand in several other collectible 'cookie jars' and I can tell you that repros never hurt the value of the original.
