But seriously...How freaking cool would these playsets have been!? SOOOO much better than what Playmates actually made!
I've emailed him asking to see more of the designs he may have worked on, or to chat about the design process if he's interested. No response yet. Think it's okay to post these here? If not, I'll delete...
In either case, his website and more design work is available here...

Forget the 6 inch line and the bridge dome button for the Enterprise - 4 inch figures like their TNG/DS9/VOY/TOS 90's figures (all be it modernised for today's kids), Individual buttons for each of the sounds on the Enterprise and a larger Enterprise at that. Include their trade-mark Simpsons and Family Guy voice tech on select 4 inch figures that could work with the Bridge, Transporter room and other playsets.
For a new fan, kids can re-create the 2009 movie
For older fans who began collecting Star Trek with Playmate's 90's offerings, they continue the collection that is as near identical to their 90's range all be it better articulated and sculpted (although I always thought that the articulation and sculpt's were awesome for 90's toys).
Then they could have gone back and remade their classic lines and ships from TNG, TOS and DS9/VOY
But what will be will be.

But it is interesting to see what features made it from design to finished product.

That bridge design is awesome. Ten times better than the version we got.

Wow.... what the heck was Playmates thinking to not go with these designs....too much cost maybe?....but wow...that would have had better success I imagine.

Hello all,
Sorry to pull up an old thread but I just found these designs for figures that I'm assuming Playmates were going to release and this looks like the best place to put it for now......
http://www.ebay.com/...=p2046732.m1684
This seller also had the 12" Chekov prototype figure that I have never even heard of. I know it was unreleased however I've never seen anyone mention it getting to this stage....
Take care,
Matty-lad
