Probably different sculptors?

I like the Sheppard. He's spot on. Weir needs a little more work, but she's in good shape. I'm definitely getting these. I really want to see the whole gate, though, especially the base. I was disapppointed with the ramp for the SG1 gate. It was too narrow compared to the gate itself.

Yeah, but just overall how can they approve both of them? Like I said, Sheppard is just jawdropping while Lee and Six are almost a 'meh'.

Approvals come from the studios, and SG is MGM while BSG is Universal so standards may be different. Although the BSG figures do have the "Approval Pending" sign behind them, so Universal will probably tell them to make changes. At this stage, I doubt the BSG figures will be ready by the summer. Next year, more likely. Atlantis seems right on track, though.

I agree. On thing I hope is that we get a full gate and not half the gate as shown with the orange base. I also hope that one of the accessories will be a ZPM. But that maybe only be with McKay. I wonder who will come with the Ancient Drone. That is one nice accessorie.

Looking at Weir from different angles, she actually does look spot on. Very nice work. Very nice.

she does look good. I wonder if the stargate is going to be a complete circle or just go into the floor like the prototype. I hope that it is like the Sg1 gate.

well seeing as the Atlantis gate goes into the ground, just like they have it there..... why would they give it as a full gate that you couldn't stand up?

In SG-1 we saw many gates built into stone steps but the Stargate Command gate was not. In Atlantis, the gate is built into the floor but we still saw the full gates in space that the Puddle Jumpers travel through. We have seen both but as the SG-1 gate had the ramp to lead into the gate, the Atlantis gate does not so this could be the reason why they are doing it this way.

What I would like to see is the base rased so you can fit the gate in the base with the steps on the site leading to the planform that is capped off at the front. I'm not sure if I'm explaining it right. If I find a good image i will post it.

DST has announced that they are doing a mail in figure for Atlantis like they did with the serpent gaurd for SG1. They are offering a mail in "Steve" the Wraith figure. It is just a repaint of the regular release Wraith (like the Elite serpent Guard) but looks realy cool. You can check out the news at the DST website.

Nice. I was hoping DST would not do another mail in offer as I had so much trouble with the first but who is to say no to a free figure. I plan on getting the hole wave anyway. wink.gif

Exactly, DST brings themselves up a bit in my book by offering these figures.

I always loved the mail in figures when I was a kid. I had to have every Star Wars and G.I.Joe mail away that was offered. The wraith figure looks great. I can't wait to get him in my collection.
