Something tells me if that's true, the Orion Slave Girl is going to sell out pretty fast.

Well.. one thing I've learned about collecting trek stuff right now is that the state of franchise usually menas there are enough to go around.

It's not to hard to get all of the DST trek stuff that's come out in the past couple years... and alot of AA stuff is easy to find yet as well.

I think she would as well.

The custom of her over at the Mego Museum is pretty darn amazing.

But yes, someone (perhaps the Mego Mesuem guy) was saying mock-ups were made of the two & shown in a catalogue or at a toy show or something along those lines.

I didn't just dream all that did I!! huh.gif laugh.gif

Here is the custom from the museum:

He calls her Marta....did we see more slave girls than Vina in TOS?

Wouldn't it be nice if we could have Mego like figures of all crews. Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu and Checkov in TOS uniform. Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu and Checkov with more mature faces in TWOK-TSFS-TVH-TFF-TUC uniforms (They could use a Mego penguin/Frair Tuck body for Scotty.) Archer, T'pol, Trip, Reed, Maywether, Hoshi and Flox (again, a Mego penguin/Frair Tuck body for Flox) in ENT uniforms. The TNG, DS9 and VOY crews in their uniforms and some aliens to complete the collection.

Awesome...thanks for that Sybeck1.

He apparently used the Wicked Witch body from the Oz line.

He should have used the Batgirl body though. Since both Martha and Batgirl were played by the same actress, Yvone Craig. wink.gif

I don't think it matters all that much. It's not like Mego was famous for their remarkable likenesses. wink.gif

And weren't Mego bodies standardized? Everything I've seen leads me to think they were just sculpted heads on generic, articulated bodies. If they did indeed sculpt new bodies for each figure, I am more intrigued by these figures than before.

They didn't. I was only trying to see if anyone would get my remark about a Batgirl body before I mentioned that Batgirl and Martha were both played by the same actress.

However they did make more than one body. They had a standard male body which they replaced soon by a more muscular one with better joints. They had a standard female body. They had a child like body that was way smaller. And they had a "fat" body for figures like Penguin or Frair Tuck. And their Star Trek Starfleet male characters were different from their other bodies in that the lower part of the legs (from the knee down) were cast in the form of a boot. So the had no removable boots and no heel articulation.

I got it, Phil. As if TOS wasn't great enough, it had guest appearances by both Batgirl and Catwoman.

About the Mego bodies, there seem to have been more versions. Check Mego Museum FAQs.

You mean guest appearances by Batgirl and two of the Catwomen? (TOS had Julie Newmar and Lee Merriweather.)

BAH!!!

Julie Newmar is Catwoman.

Lee Merriweather was a mediocre substitute. (Don't get me started on Earth Kitt.)

Well, I did prefere Merriweather. Never liked Newmar. Not in Trek, not in Batman. Just not my type of woman. I like them slim, tall and with long leggs. Merriweather had all that.
