I'll follow my original topic title with a boring introduction.
I've been lurking here for a long time now, and thought it was time to join. I'm a casual collector--while I collected Playmates pretty heavily during the 90s, now I just buy TOS stuff from AA/DST on occasion. I tend to buy all of the Trek Tek stuff, but am pretty sporadic about the figures.
I'm a professor of English, hence the first part of my user name, and while I like to think of myself as Spock or Kirk, I've been told by almost everyone that I'm definitely McCoy (even those online quizzes that tell you who your Star Trek personality is). I'm married and have a new baby, who is currently leaving me alone because he's listening to an hour-long vacuum cleaner MP3 through noise-canceling headphones.
I guess that's about it.
Hello.

Welcome! Actually, I had thought your name was in reference to Beast from X-Men (yeah, I know he was a "Dr.", not professor.. but still ).

I didn't think about the Beast connection, since my brain was in Star Trek mode.
I would not mind having Hank McCoy's intelligence . . .
