I don't think DST plans to release a TMP version. Given the number of TOS phaser varients it's still a possiblity however, if you look closely there are several elements from the TMP version on there (mainly the combination of the TMP and TWOK triggers).

The way that they combined elements is what made me think they might do a TMP version... They would have to remove the "button" off the trigger and have to make a different read out display on the top of the phaser.

I guess it all depends on how many TWOK phasers DST sells. If they do release a TMP version I'd buy it just to motivate them to make a Tricorder from TWOK or TMP. Or maybe a TMP communicator. New pic (good to see they've added screw covers)

One of the UK online retailers has solicited the TMP phaser, which leaves me to believe DST has, at least, put out feelers to see if there is interest in it. If they do a TMP phaser, they will have to make it in the same run as the TWOK, I assume. So I hope someone picks it up before production begins. Otherwise it reduces the chance of it ever being made. The TOS role-play items are successful enough for multiple runs, but I'm not sure how successful the movie items will be.

Okay...here is the scoop on the TMP Phaser...it was supposed to be Rick's Exclusive role play item he was mentioning months ago, but with all the delays DST was having and it being a kind of a risky item, he decided not to pursue it, so there will be a TMP Exclusive phaser, but it is unsure who has picked it up, or if anyone has yet.

Not to sound like a know it all .... But I KNEW IT !!!! smile.gif Has anyone seen pictures of it? The control panel is quite a bit different from the TMP to the TWOK.

When I found out about it, I asked Rick if he got any of the prototype pictures and he hadn't gotten any. There is a concept drawing of it on Forbidden Planet or Play.com or something but not pictures of the actual phaser.

Probably. Found the exact same pic and a few more at Phasers.net. They probably just wanted to give you an idea of what you were pre-ordering.

I wonder what sound effects they will use for the TMP Phaser ( Probably just the TWOK sounds) since we never saw it in action on film.

It was there but you really had to look for it. Here's a few images from TMP.
3rd column, 3rd pic down on guards belt
2nd column, 2nd pic down and again
2nd column, 1st pic down and again
That's it as far I can tell. As for sound I agree with Prometheus.

As an exclusive holder, I mean. It sounds like Rick isn't going to take it on anymore. Maybe Entertainment Earth will pick this up as well. They seem to have had good success with their communicator and tricorder exclusives.

I'm gonna pass on this one. I was never a fan of the TMP/TWOK props. The phaser looks like an ice cream sandwich with a handle.

The TWOK comm no thanks, gimme an STIII/V comm and an STIII phaser one and two. Make my day/month/year/century AA/DST!

This and the GEO Tricorder. Retailers might wait to see how the TWOK phaser does before taking on the TMP phaser.

Yeah, but they would have to run it with the TWOK phaser anyway, unless the TWOK is successful enough to warrant a second run. Of course they could always run it and, if no one picks it up, make it a Previews exclusive.
