I have several of the Seven of Nine toyfare exclusives and I want to paint the outfit on one to be that sparkly burgundy like she wore in later seasons. Can someone tell me if there is a specific type of paint I should use? Modeling paint? Should I clearcoat! Etc. thanks for any help!

I think, you might consider, getting a slightly darker Plum colour, mix some silver paint, it adds some lightness and some sparkle

I'm not asking about color choices. I'm asking about what type of paint to use. What kind of paint do they use on the figures? Will modeling paint work just as good or is there another type I need?

Acrylic is what I use.

No idea what country your from, but I bought a Hornby black paint pot and it was a very glossy black, whereas a "Flames of War" set is what I primarily use. No idea what type of Acrylic it is, all I did was walk into the place I used to buy Heroclix from, a model shop, with a Riker, Data, and Gowron figure and said "what's best to make paint these?". I hope I've helped, and I hope it goes well. If it does, I'd love to see pictures!

EDIT: As for your second question:

Have a read through some of this.

Impressive! That turned out fantastic, very professional. What paint did you use in the end?

I'll have to get home and see what I used. Lol I forget. It was something like red metal flake. I got it at hobby lobby. Granted it's not as "finished" as I'd like. The paint is rather sticky by comparison but I am just displaying it on a shelf so it should be fine.
