Been a few days since I heard from Atlanthia again. Hope we didn't loose him again.
No AA Mayweather Helm Station available? I'll build my own then......

Agreed. I haven't heard from Atlanthia for quite a while now, and usually we've been sending a few personal messages back and forth. I hope he's doing fine.

This is my 2nd attempt at 3D printing the Travis helm. This is a file I found on Thingaverse. My 1st attempt consisted of about 200 pieces and was very hard to glue, so the file also included a small helm that was already a complete helm. So I resized it and cut it into two file and printed almost. It took over 3 days to print this.

I was on Darrens short list, before he left us. I was a little miffed at the time, because he wasnt answering emails... I think I paid him a deposit too... 😢

It opened to darrens first post. I thought someone else picked up the mantle. I guess you are... liked like his build, it was... I dont know why it went to the first post...
I recall being very close to this custom piece. And then silence!
So I read through the posts, after his heart attack, he was back online. I was about to be sent my kit, and then he was gone again. I guess I actually sent the money. I had written it off as a loss. But no remorse, I hope hes still around, not here... just healthy

Thats pretty neat Sybeck1,
obviously there is lots of work to smooth and maybe fill before painting? do you have a best practice? emery boards.. cloth or something? or do many imperfections get filled with a primer?
Just curious as to the level of finishing needed!

It had mixed results. He ended up priming and filling, priming and filling...

"priming and filling, priming and filling..."
Tiberius, thats been my experience... can be a very meticulous and time consuming process... but will yield great results.
