Thanks! I used the Hot Toys Hispanic body for Zoe, it works well but they're pretty rare now.

no need to be sorry man. It is great info for anyone wanting to build one.
I haven't enjoyed working on customs this much in a long time.
I am now working on Jayne Cobb to go with Mal and so far he is turning out great. I haven't decided if I am going to do them all yet.

Guess I'll share mine then smile.gif

These are missing Zoe's vest, I made that myself after I took them. I love the look of the cigar in Jayne's mouth!

On it. will let you know.

I hate to bust in, but the guy is Trevor Grove - he works for Sideshow Collectables as a sculptor, and really does some of their best work. He's not only got Mal, but he just finished up Simon - which means that after about two years, the ENTIRE Serenity crew is complete.

He's made Mal, Simon, River (two sculpts, one with hair down and another with hair "blowing"), Zoe, Wash, Jayne, Kaylee, Inara (two sculpts - one with hair up, one down), and Book. He also sculpted Mal's boots.

He still casts them to order - you can contact him over at the SideShowFreaks forum. The thread is here: http://www.sideshowc...ead.php?t=68416

He's usually really good about responding fast smile.gif

As far as the other parts, well, search your heart out. Everyone's piecemealing them. Stevo's Toys (www.stevostoys.com) makes belts, holsters, and guns for Mal, Jayne, and Zoe. SMG customs (http://smcgcustoms.c...esHeroines.aspx) USED to make costumes for Jayne, Wash, Zoe, and Mal, but he took a break. I was able to get one of his Mal jackets, and they are really nice. He's a good guy, you could try contacting him. I also gathered parts from BattleGearToys (www.battlegeartoys.com)...their website has a lot of western gear. Not the most user-friendly site, but Auggie (the owner) is really nice and good about answering questions, I trust him completely.

Otherwise, I've used Hot Toys parts, Sideshow parts, and Triad Toys parts to make mine (for the most part). It's just a matter of looking through ebay for 1:6 stuff to see what's available. And while they're pricey, Hot Toy's bodies really are the best on the 1/6 market.

They did Bruce Lee the same way... and I kind of have the same question as to how they will last.

Also, the head and neck of many of the newer Hot Toys are done with a similar softer material, and they give a warning that you shouldn't rotate the head in certain ways or there will be paint rub.

I have to say, its giving me pause on some Hot toys items, as its one thing to watch a few $15 toys go bad, but at an average price of $150, if a few go bad it would be rather devastating sad.gif

Anyhow I'd still love to see Hot toys take a stab at a Kirk/Spock set!

Hot Toys has actually had some problems with the rubber they use in the past. Rockys have been known not to hold up, and the newest one is the Comedian, which is apparently having some warping on the rubber tunic. But I don't think this would affect Trek though? What use of rubber or "muscular" bodies would be needed? Maybe on Worf?
