They will have the Communicator, TriCorder and Phaser on speciality shop shelves when the Trek Movie comes out!
They are sure to get some new customers picking up their product based on the free brand marketing that they will get... and I think the complete "Away Team" playset will be well received.

The word from Toyfair is the prototype shown there was actually the HMS Model.

Hmmm... after looking at some MR picts, I guess there are a few differences...
I will most likely get one!

I am hoping that the production retains the size and some of the features, if so, it will be a killer release.
Also, they mention it comes with a "Scanning Device"
A Medical one perhaps that fits snugly in the bottom compartment?

Oooooo! that would make me buy Two!
I wonder if the Data Discs are removable?!

On the originals (Two Tricorders were Made for Desilu by Propmaster Wah Ming Chang in 1966) he did in fact incorporate one of the disc as being removable, the first one as seen in this pic of Mr. Chang Holding one of the 2 originals:
I doubt that the AA/DST offering will have this feature, however I would like to know what type of " Portable Scanning Device" they are referring to that will be included with the release?

So does this mean the regular release will be a science version and will not be including a scanner? I'm guessing it does. So looks like we will be getting two trics after all.
