Had an idea for one of these awhile back , asked DST about it, but they said no. There seems to be some talented set piece makers here so, I'd like to see someone take a crack at it .

From what I have found , there appears to be these two styles, there may be more.

Either one would be awesome to see though.

If I don't have it, they never made one.

The top one looks like you could build around Archers chair to make it..
The bottom one looks to be the easiest.

What are these photographs of? Is it a prototype or something that someone actually built?

The images are of the life size actual set chairs from the Klingon bridge which were sold off at Christie's Auction.

It might be fun to make one of these. I'm curios though where is each one from (Time period/Ship)? Also what do the surroundings of each of these look like?

I believe the top one is from the early seasons of TNG, the bottom one I beilieve is from DS9 IIRC

Here is the one shown in the top pic from TNG season 2's "A Matter of Honor" between Riker and the dematerializing Kargon.

Here is the one shown in the second pic to the left of Worf from DS9's "Soliders of the Empire"

I believe that no Klingon bridge ensemble is complete without the foul stench of a trusty Targ at the Captains side! I find the Klingon swine's odoriforous disposition quite displeasing, but among Klingons there seems to be no distinction.

Indeed VF, perhaps if the gentleman who won the "Klingon Monster dog" prototype that DST auctioned off on Ebay several months back would be willing to make a casting of it and paint it by hand, it would complete the look of the chair once it's made. biggrin.gif

That looks awesome so far! Though the base of it could be a bit taller I think.

Yeah, I also didn't get the angles of the armrests quite right. I figured I would just take some artistic license and finish it not necessarily exactly like the one pictured but focus on just making it look like it could be a Klingon chair.

Going to let some putty dry overnight and do some more tomorrow.

The armrests look good to me . I think I like your approach of an anglam of differening styles between the two chairs, because , as long as it is a high backed chair, that's angular with black seat and back and the rusted look to the metal with some kind of kitbashed looking details on the back, it'll look awesome reguardless if it looks exactly like either.

Got some of the detail work done and the first coat of paint. I took a lot of artistic license with the back I was having a hard time matching the photo and what I found fit perfectly so I went with it.

You have any paint that's a bit darker? To me it seems Klingon chairs and consoles have always been in the kinda rusty looking dark brown, then again it may just be the dark lighting conditions on the Klingon ships.
