I am interested in repainting my newly aquired Vor'Cha Attack cruiser to match the look of it as appeared on DS9 from about season 4 onward . I have a pic of it from star Trek the exhibition which shows pretty good detail of the top of the wings and battle head .

I've aslo grabbed some screencaps off of trekcore for the paint detailing on the ventral side of the hull .

Are there any good sources for shots of the actual filming model after the repaint that anyone knows of?

I have also emailed Rick Sternbeck to see if he has any info .

By Season 4, I'm not sure they were using a physical model for that ship. I know all the huge battle scenes were CGI, so I think there might not be any reference except what you see on screen.

I just watched the behind the scenes disc on season 4 and most if not all the klingon ships seen in that were still traditional models .

I got all the supplies needed to do the job , now comes the long tedious task of masking off the panels , I've got the top of one wing masked off thus far.

Got most of the masking done on the ventral side of the hull yesterday and I painted the panels and allowed them to dry . It came out pretty well aside from a few minor errors which were easily fixed . The ship looks good from the top , now i will mask off the bottom panels and paint those as well.

Very nice paint work, indeed.

(a little bit of added "cigarette staining" on the model, and you can get the authentic weathered look ... lol)

Thanks guys! What took the most time was the masking off on the dorsal section , and my hand was steady enough, that I decided not to mask off the ventral side. Then read a tip from James E Smalls who is a professional model builder round2 models hires to build their models for display on their boxes and website . He said if you have areas of paint slop, as long as the plastic of the model is molded in the color it is meant to be already, take the very tip of an Xacto blade and scrape it away. Which is what I did. I'm pretty pleased with the result, though I wish the yellow paint I got wasn't so thin.
