Okay, so I want my crew all in the EV suits cause it buggers up my OCD ahving the mix of jumpsuits and spacesuits. So my question is about decapitating Mayweather and Reed. How do I achieve this? Are the AA Enterprise figures boil-and-pop friendly, or am i going to have to break out something sharp? ohmy.gif

Yep they are boil and pop friendly. Boil some water either in the microwave or on a stovetop and then hold the figure by his feet and submerge his head and neck under water for about a minute. Then remove the figure and pull his head off. It should come right off pretty easily. If it does not then hold in for another minute. When you want to put the head back on just hold the neck part under the water for a minute and then pop it back on the body that you want it on.

I tried to do the same thing a little while ago but could never find the two extra EVA Tuckers I needed to do it.

you could use the Tucker for Reed and the Archer for Mayweather, he is a bit bigger then Reed. You might want to make a little label for the new figures, as they will have the donor's nameplate on them...

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I am curious what body you used as a donor for the Hoshi custom.. Great work BTW!

Hi I used a Reed body which was sanded down and adjusted for it, the colour still is not a good match but I've given up trying to get that one right :)

You need Humbrol Oxford Blue. MATT 104. It's the colour I used on my T'pol sculpt and is REALLY close to the original.

It comes in those little tins for 2 or 3 euros. Do you have HUMBROL in the Netherlands?

I think it is the worst part of customising a figure. You put in all that work and then it is almost impossible to get the right colour. Put a couple of coats of this on her and it will transform her completely. Hope that is of use to you. Great figure, by the way!
Let me kow how you get on, Mate!

I used a similar idea to make my own Hoshi in Jumpsuit. I took the Reed legs and a T'Pol Torso and colour matched after sculpting the torso.

And for the sack of completeness I made a Dr Phlox

I thought a EVA Suit Reed was made? I guess I'll guess I'll need to do that also. Luckily I already have a spare Reed head waiting
